It's no secret that even Kingdom Hearts fans don't really understand the storyline for the action RPG/Disney mash-up. Still, that doesn't keep the hardcore players from coming back. At this point, it's safe to say that everyone is just enjoying the ride and having a few good laughs along the way. Kingdom Hearts memes have been around since the release of the first game and they continue on to this day.

In fact, its the true Kingdom Hearts fans that come up with the best memes. Here are the memes that prove the game doesn't make sense, even to the most loyal fans.

10 KINGDOM HEARTS 3 DIDN'T FIX ANYTHING

Many of the Kingdom Hearts fans were over the moon with the long-awaited release of Kingdom Hearts III, yet most were disappointed. Not much was resolved, except for the ultimate beat down Xehanort received. Even with all the past characters reunited, there was still a lot left of the story that just didn't make sense. Perhaps a lot of it had to do with development politics, but honestly, the final installment was just as confusing as every other game. In fact, it just seemed like a lot of shortcuts were taken to force sense on the already disorganized plot.

9 THE RABBIT HOLE THE STORYLINES TAKE YOU THROUGH

Pretty much every Kingdom Hearts game has en extra cutscene after the credits and, if players worked hard enough, a secret ending as well. The problem is, these endings don't always lead to the next game in development.Kingdom Hearts 1's secret ending didn't actually come into play until Kingdom Hearts 358/2 which was released on the Nintendo DS. Kingdom Hearts II's secret ending didn't make sense at all as no one was prepared for a history lesson in Birth By Sleep.

It was always a challenge to guess what the secret endings meant and when a game or its ending hinted at Kingdom Hearts III.

8 NO MATTER THE ORDER, THE SERIES DOESN'T MAKE SENSE

Despite all the games being tied together, the storytelling doesn't often make sense. Fans could play the games in or out of order, cheat and read up on them, or diligently go through them as narrative detectives and still, parts of the story would not make sense. Trying to explain it to someone who isn't a fan is difficult. The player mulling over the story in their head and attempting to put the pieces together, however, is equally difficult. Fans can speculate and theorize all day, but when it comes down to it, the gameplay is more important to this series than the story.

7 TERRA'S LINGERING WILL. HOW DOES THIS HAPPEN, AGAIN?

Most might have been surprised by Terra's secret weapon, his own will power. As if it wasn't hard enough to understand how the heart works in this universe let alone where the soul fits in and all of a sudden the will of a person mattered. Admittedly, it was a cool idea and fighting against Terranort was fun as an empty shell of armor. Still, it seemed weird and out of nowhere for the mind to suddenly have such immense power. Lots of questions, little answers. Still cool, though.

6 ANYONE CAN GO UP AGAINST ANSEM, APPARENTLY

Hayner, Pence, and Ollete are pretty much the boxcar children of Twilight town. They go around solving mysteries but don't carry Keyblades and don't really do much to benefit the story except for being Roxas' friend in a virtual world. The real trio doesn't even know who Roxas is until Kingdom Hearts III and by the end of the game, they are magically best friends.

This meme truly depicts how useless they are, despite Hayner's courageous attempt to take down the big and bad. It actually seemed unfair to keep them in Kingdom Hearts III and dismiss the Final Fantasy characters altogether.

5 DARK STORY VS DISNEY CHARACTERS AND WORLDS

Most people would look at the cover of a Kingdom Hearts game and wonder "what are Donald and goofy doing here?" It's a solid question even Kingdom Hearts fans sometimes find odd but accept anyway. No doubt, the Disney worlds were added to boost sales and make the game more kid-friendly. However, when the main plot is taken into consideration, the Disney worlds just fall out of interest.

4 THE ISLAND GANG NOT THINKING AHEAD, OR AT ALL

Plot-wise, the beginning of Kingdom Hearts 1 just doesn't make sense. Perhaps it's that the boats belong to the kids so that they can get to the island, but still, it stands to reason that Sora, Riku, and Kairi could share a boat. Maybe they are too small, maybe they only fit two people. Regardless, it's an obvious plot point to take into consideration and its a little insulting that Square Enix wouldn't think to address this. Even kids noticed this when the game first came out.

3 SORA'S MOM MAY NOT ACTUALLY EXIST, OR HE JUST DOESN'T CARE ABOUT HER

The big question: will Sora ever make it to dinner? It has been years since the young hero took off without telling his mother, making his way to the island only to get sucked up into a dark portal. It's even more strange when considering Kairi going to school in Kingdom Hearts II. Surely she has parents. Riku must have parents. These are young teenagers after all, at least at the start of the game, so are their parents okay with them running off to other worlds?

It's certainly a dream most kids with imagination have. Who wouldn't want to take off without a word? Unfortunately, however, real world real parents would have a word or two for their kids.

2 DON'T WORRY, THERE'S MORE CONFUSION IN KINGDOM HEARTS CHI

Oh yes, who could forget about the mobile game? Kingdom Hearts Chi tells the story of the first Keyblade war. Players of this mobile game found familiar faces in Ventus, Laurium (who most assume is the somebody to Marluxia's nobody) and even Elrena (Larxene's somebody). But, what does all this mean? Who are these people and what importance do they have? Are we going to have to wait for the next saga? Most likely and, as the Dark Seeker saga went, its possible not all these questions will be answered right away. Fans at least can look forward to Marluxia or rather Laurium playing a bigger role in the future.

1 POOR KAIR JUST DOESN'T FIT IN ANYMORE

Last but most definitely not least, Kair's role in the story. It was cute that she was the damsel in distress in Kingdom Hearts simply because it gave the boys a motive and expanded on Riku's arc. However, as the saga continued, Kairi just lost any sense of weight. All too quickly she was overtaken by Namine, Xion, and Aqua. Sure, Kindom Hearts 3 reMind gave her a fighting chance (literally), but up until that point she was in the background. Many fans were excited to see her with a Keyblade in KH2, but that was dismissed until KH3 and even then (again until reMind) she didn't do much with it. Sorry Kairi, but Sora and Riku have more of a relationship than you do with either. It's not your fault though.
